Baby shower presents

I went to a double baby shower and I made a couple of things for presents.

I made this picture frame for the friend that is having a boy. I found a bag of buttons/charms on sale for 50 cents so I bought 2. I didn't know what I was going to use them for yet but I thought they were cute. I cut off the circle part on the back where the string or beading goes and just hot glued them to a picture frame. A cheap personalized present.

I also bought another frame for her that said 'I am the little brother' at Burlington Coat Factory and it is magnetic also. I didn't want to buy a card so I decided to make one. I think it came out pretty good. We are all army wives so I decided to find a cute picture on the internet that had to do with that. I found this really cute picture that was perfect. I found it on zazzle.com. I cut it out and pasted it on card stock. I made it about the size of one of those really small cards.

Then on to the envelope. I didn't want to just have a plain envelope so I searched on google image search for that too. And I found the perfect picture that actually matched the wrapping paper that I already had. It looks like it came with the wrapping paper. And I just pasted it on the front of the envelope.

Same colors and everything! I found this one on mygeorgiegirl.blogspot.com.

For my friend that is having a girl I did buy her one outfit and some socks and then I made her two frames. The first one is just like the boy one I made only girlier. :)

When I took this picture I didn't realize that one of the charm things had fallen off in the left corner. It was of a baby onesie. So I had to glue that back on. I got all the charm things at AC Moore, I forgot to mention that.

And then I decided to make a sort of scrapbook like picture frame also.

So instead of decorating the frame itself I did a scrapbook page and put it into the frame. And then just put a flower on the top corner.

Welcome to my blog!

I have always read blogs whenever I was looking for ideas on making things. Crafty, creative things whether for a birthday party, school or whatever. I like to make things and I enjoy the expression on people either verbally or facially (is that even a word?), when they saw whatever it is that I made. It is fun and I sometimes look to other people to get my creative juices flowing. So I decided to start a blog to share some of my own ideas along with some ideas I tweaked from other people. I will also share some of my stories and at times advice. I can't promise my blog will be as insightful and witty as other's I have read but I will certainly try. So here it goes!
